Thank you to those that maintain our fighter fleets and to our pilots and copilots for your hard work and trading as well as high risk you take. May we be worthy of such men as all of you, as a country.
I worked on avionics in the Navy and this definitely takes me back. I did notice that one of the maintenance guys was working on the aircraft with his wedding ring on. In my day, that was a big "no no." It's all about safety and the ATTENTION TO DETAIL. This stuff was drilled into us in boot camp, tech school, and everyday at work.
I was a FO/JFO in the Army, got to play with a lot of rotary and fixed wing aircraft, but the F-15 & F-16's were only for the JTAC's. Got to see a few highspeed passes though; you can just FEEL the power in those engines
A big thank you to all the men and women who maintain and fly the A-10 Thunderbolts (Warthogs) and KC-135 Refueling Tankers out of Selfridge ANG base in Harrison Twp, north of Detroit, Michigan. I attended this past summers Selfridge open house and it was amazing to see the ANG aircraft up close and in flight. Congrats to all of you young veterans who keep our country safe and above all FREE !
The best thanks I can give these pilots and the crew that fly and maintain them is the hair you raise on my body every time y’all come over my house . It’s my salute to you , It makes me proud to be an American !
