On May 21, 2023, the heavy transport of the U-boat U17 to the Speyer Museum of Technology took place. Four heavy haulage trucks were needed to transport the 500-ton submarine on 32 axles 4 kilometers to the museum site. There it is to be prepared for onward transport to the nearby Museum of Technology Sinsheim.
I served on board HMCS Saguenay and in 1986 we were doing Nato exercises and U17 was tasked to find the fleet. U17 surfaced and hit us below the keel putting two holes in our stbd side and bent our port shaft, pieces of our prop were embedded in u17 coning tower. U17 did an emergency surface and returned to Germany and we ended up in port for major repairs. No one was hurt on Saguenay and I don't think anybody was hurt on U17. It was quite the day
Bring your kid to work day? having children involved with moving 200 tons of metal through streets with electric wires and all sorts of obstacles is called child abuse in America.
The total weight of the submarine. It's only 2 trailers, so tell me how this thing gets around corners. And why it's not just the 2 trailers that all the way is on.
I don't know y'all think we could give it a makeover like we do the cars few upgrades on it and take her out on a secret mission
