P&J Herajärvi Oy from Tornio contracts field milling throughout Finland. Since 2003, Pekka Herajärvi has been milling with a tractor-fitted Suokone milling machine, but the tractor has its shortcomings in milling work - the power can be increased, but then the transmission lags behind in dimensioning and in soft areas the surface pressure should be lower than that caused by tires. For the last summer season, Herajärvi built his own roller milling machine almost from start to finish with the father's user experience and the technical knowledge and skills of his son, Jarkko Herajärvi's metal side.
In addition to milling contracting, Herajärvi has three trail tampers that run trails and snowmobile routes in the Tornio and Kemi areas. In addition to machine contracting, another important industry is the metal and machinery industry. P&J Herajärvi Oy is also an agricultural machinery repair shop and a contract service point for Agrimarket and K-maatalous, among others. Various machining tasks are performed in the same premises, such as milling and turning, as well as welding for those who need them. During the summer, Pekka handles the milling of the field with another employee, and in addition to Jarko, there is one maintenance man on the maintenance side.
