The device works. That's great. That engine start and stop was absolutely excellent, which minimized unnecessary idling.
But there is still room for improvement in terms of security. What happens if you accidentally lean your knee on the steel guard? That's why I would suggest that you turn the whole motor package so that the motor is down or towards the thigh so that the cutting blade opens in the opposite direction.
I myself have not delved very deeply into my own idea and I always want it to be the case that by changing I might get some good feature, but might lose another
I expected some kind of death machine but this actually looks rather practical and safe compared to other respected methods. Great craftsmanship. The splitter makes me a bit nervous but those perfectly sectioned logs from the chainsaw rig must be nice for stacking
The speedy splitter is what could really make a great difference for a firewood machine I've been wanting to see someone build it
I'm curious about the electrics of this system. Does the key on the handle directly actuate the contactor? If so, I think it would be better to run the engine once per log rather than every cut. It would be ideal if there was, for example, a clutch that engages the drive under the key. The energy consumption would probably be lower, because the motor uses a lot of energy at start-up.
