I bought a cheap electric chainsaw for £45 and mounted it on a steel trestle made from 40mm square tube.
The saw is operated by pressing the button and pulling down on the lever.
There is so far, no chain guard but I believe it is safer than using a regular chainsaw...
Com: Cody : gotta give it to you, thats a decent thought, but your arm is way to close to the bar withe the way your handle is set up,
there is no chain brake on that thing, and cutting 3 pieces of wood at once?
boys and girls that dont run a saw often, dont do this.
ill stick with my big stihl and cut wood without moss on it. interesting though, i bet cut wood piles up in a hurry..
Com: Charles wright : I worked in a lumbermill for decades, one of the positions was a Hula saw...
long gone now...
it was double chop saw, intended to cut up to 4x12 inch boards and was rather fast, but that was an industrial saw set up.
Considering the size of wood you are cutting in the video a regular chop saw might work okay...
and that would get away from the chain maintenance issues with chainsaws...
