As much as I love watching these beasts... can someone explain to me why all this timber gets chipped? I know some, if not all is used somehow to heat houses, but why is it not also used for lumber to MAKE houses etc...? I see so many videos, including this one, with what appears to be perfectly good, very long, wide, and even straight pine and other good woods, that would be perfect for timber... so why?
Trees are a renewable energy source. Just consider the Finnish reforestation program. Harvested trees are regrown in a successful pattern . There really is no end for this natural resource.
I am guessing it takes at least 3 loads of energy to produce and transport a "clean fuel" [saw dust] that will may be produce one.
Ok considering there is meant to be a shortage on timber products 2x4 4x4 4x8 etc why in the blue hell are they wasting good logs???
Diamond z tub or horizontal grinders will show what real chipping is all about. Nothing but toys here.
Why should it be dangerous? If it complies to all regulations it's not. Change your video title.
