At the beginning of the twentieth century, designers began to produce extreme machines. Super trucks and ATVs have been developed by many engineers in different countries. presented many models with the characteristics of all-terrain vehicles.
Features of off-road vehicles
Not all trucks can qualify as off-road vehicles. To do this, you must meet a number of criteria.
Off-road trucks run on low-pressure tires. A wide tire is mounted on the rim. Due to the large area, traction with soil (or any other road surface) is improved. The air inside the tire allows this type of technique to overcome water obstacles, creating a kind of buoyancy.
Another important difference between all-terrain vehicles is the "breaking" frame. It consists of two interconnected parts. This gives it flexibility and allows all wheels to touch the ground in any situation.
Wheel Trucks
Off-road trucks on wheels are versatile vehicles. They can move around without damage, both on roads and unpaved areas. Even water will not be an obstacle for them. Wheeled ATVs are lighter than tracked vehicles. But they can also carry loads of the same mass.
Given the design of the vehicles, it is considered that wheeled supertrucks are easier to repair than their tracked counterparts. The undercarriage of tracked vehicles consists of a large number of severely stressed and damaged metal parts. Repairing them in the field is much more difficult than with wheeled trucks.
Wheeled off-road trucks:
The YAG-12 is the first Soviet all-terrain vehicle.
ZIL-49061, better known as the "Blue Bird". It is a three-axle and four-wheel drive floating truck. It crosses all water obstacles at a speed of up to 8 kilometers per hour.
ZIL-135P was designated "Dolphin". This is another amphibious truck. It can speed up to 65 kilometers per hour on roads and up to 16.5 kilometers per hour in water. With a strength of 5, she withstands storms and breaks the ice in her path.
