Getting a tire changed on my Case 1390. I figured somebody might be interested in how tractor tires are changed. This tractor got a set of 4 new tires last summer, but the left rear started splitting in two along a line around its circumference after very little use. After some argument, I got the tire dealer to replace it under warranty.
This was a very easy tire to change. My tire guy, Tony, has to deal with everything from my size tractor (anything smaller, and you might as well throw the tire in the back of your pickup and take it to a tire shop!) up to the big 400HP Steiger's with 16-ply duals that might weigh over 1,000 pounds. He also does a lot of tractor-trailer tires.
This is not meant as a how-to video. Tony makes it look easy, but only because he's changed thousands of big tires. It's too easy to make a mistake that could cost a lot, or even cause serious injury. It's not worth it to save a few bucks.
