Com: Leigh:Disturbing the soil is harmful, it has been proved without doubt that direct drilling is the answer. when will these 3rd world countries learn?
Com: Mega tractors : I watch these videos and remember back to the early 50s when I was 12, or 13 and sitting on a John Deere "A" dragging a two bottom plow with the rising sun in my eyes while my dad and the "hired man" was milking our 40 or 50 cows.
My job was to get that 20+ acres plowed so it could be planted to oats (or corn) tomorrow, maybe even today. I have to think of the air conditioned satellite radio tractors of today.
A year or so later would I would be on an Oliver 70. I am sorry but today's farmers work hard, but anyone under 30 has no clue what hard farm work was like.
For you "townies" do not think for a second that a farmer's life is not 125% hard work and the rest is simply difficult, but today (50 years of technology later) is a very different "hard".
Kids my age and kids today from farms (or ranches) are not the "teenage" problems, they are too "frankly" fucking busy"!
HMMM, maybe from 8th grade to 10 should be summer haying and winter milking, these city brats would be to tired to cause problems.
