Everyone loves plowing videos. There is just something extra special about it that everyone enjoys watching or doing. Seems like a lot more farmers are starting to go back to moldboard plowing the last several years too. We have driven through North Adams MI and the surrounding area several times. Never saw this tractor, but would have been cool to. What does the 50 suffix stand for in Big Bud tractor model designations?
Designed and Manufactured with Ingenuity is what it said on my DMI plow. The hitch on mine lacked 'Integrity' so the local welding shop/ part time farmer rebuilt it to withstand 300 hp (5 bottom) No reason to have to fix things more than once was his motto.
My Dad said his older brother would plow using Grandpa's MM 5 Star with a mounted 4 bottom and he would follow with a MM U and 3 bottom plow. 7 bottoms in on pass, they were getting fields done.
Very cool, we don't moldbord plow much anymore, we use a 24' Krause chisel plow for deep tillage most of the time, but sometimes we pull a 6 bottom with the ole D6 still.
Have used a 6 bottom dmi hydra-wide for fall plowing, really great was when doing fields after picking corn if started to plug from stalks would just open a little bit, let the plug go through, then close it back up, the farmer worked for had added a stop at 18 inches so wouldn't close any farther after opening for plugs
