Comments : The Oil company I work for, we had the PSV Blue Fighter (now known as Hermit Fighter) on long term charter from 2013 to 2016. This was along with her sister ship, the PSV Blue Prosper. On one occasion, the Fighter went from approx 2nM East of Forties Echo to Peterhead (circa 94nM) in 5h 40mins at Best Speed. On departure from the Forties Field, the vessel was asked on several occasions to confirm the estimated transit time and arrival time in port as no-one believed she could do the voyage so quickly !! True story - because I was one of the people that queried this with the vessel at the time !
Brage Viking - one of three Viking AHTS (including Loke Viking & Njord Viking) we recently had on charter for a rig move a few days ago. All fantastic, very competent, safe vessels to work with. Any rig move is in very safe hands with these guys.....
Skandi Iceman - chartered once for a rig move. Utterly phenomenal vessel with a bridge like the Starship Enterprise.
Olympic Energy & Olympic Zeus - Also previously chartered for rig moves. Like the Viking vessels, very safe and competent hands !
If anyone is interested, as of late June / early July 2022, Anchor Handler charter rates were approaching £200,000 per day, a far cry from this time last year and going back 3 - 4 years when rates were sitting around £10k - £15k per day (depending on availability of course - these rates could sometimes be slightly higher).
