I wasn’t on the TR but I was on one of the destroyers in company. I remember when this happened, it was roughly a month into my first deployment, I thought this kind of thing happened all the time, I am glad it doesn’t.
This happened on my deployment. I was on watch in the bridge. Watched with my own two eyes. Both pilots were able to eject, but not enough altitude for parachutes to deploy fully. Minor injuries for both. Broken arm. Bruises. One had a cracked vertebrae I think.
I spent 8 years in the Air Force. And these video have informed more than my time in service. But things have changed.
The real question should be why an F35C crashed off an aircraft carrier and why the pilot wasn't mentioned
Wasnt there a f35 lost not so very long ago ? Were the chineese or russians not trying to attempt getting it from the sea floor?
U.S 5th generation fighter jets F-35 A, B, and C cost $135 million dollars. F/A18 Hornet costs only $60 million dollars? Say what now?
