I was at an air show about 10 years ago, and a B1 flew over us, about 500 feet up, and it was like being in the middle of an earthquake. The ground shook violently, and it sounded like every car alarm in the parking lot went off. It was unbelievable. One of the most impressive things I had every seen. A year or 2 later, at the same air show, they had a B1 and a B2. The B2 was the exact opposite. You didn't even hear it until it was right over your head, and it just made a quiet high pitched noise. And when you looked up at it, it looked like a 2 dimensional black triangle shaped hole in the sky. It didn't even look real.
I was a munitions handler during the Vietnam War and worked on the B-52 D, G, and H models and spent time overseas and two bases stateside installing both conventional and nuclear weapons on those old BUFF's and enjoyed the work part of the time.
