Trucker:Radar detectors are illegal on commercial vehicles, like Class B box trucks and Class A tractor trailers. For 49 out of 50 states, they are legal for regular vehicles. Virginia is the only state that actually bans all radar detectors even for regular drivers, which is in contravention of an old federal law. I don't know how they are getting away with it without a lawsuit overturning it.
