On August 26th, IMMI demonstrated the important of seat belt safety by crashing the cab of a large semi-truck head-on into the largest barrier block in the world. The passenger ATD (test dummy) was not wearing a seat belt.
Comment : Test : As a professional driver, I call this a fail. No airbags on $150k truck and the way that hood went right inside is scary, doesn't have to be metal to hurt you. If this would be up to me, I would force all trucking manufacturers to make safety at least %80 better. Starting with airbags, and a cage. There should be cage out of height strength steel build inside the cabin. Cabin should detach from frame in case of brutal accident. Also small overlap, past the engine you have no protection and everything is being ripped.
