Of coarse it doesn't hurt to have an engine puller at your disposal but you can rent one pretty cheap and they even fold down enough to put in a small car. From my perspective I was totally unaware that I was actually lifting my retaining wall. Watch it drop at: 3:51 . . . Ooops, but no harm done...
Saved a hundred bucks by not having a landscaper do it. Bent the arm on the engine hoist and will spend $300-$400 bucks minimum rebuilding that wall. You can’t fix stupid comes to mind here
He should have given the thing a middle finger with his pose! All his friends probably thought he was nuts. Yeah it's sped up and took some time but probably nobody wanted to help him either. He is pretty smart too and not using a truck to wildly yank on the stump.
Not only do the roots grow under structures, the roots grow into drain tiles too. This isn't a bad idea if the stump is in the open, although not close to structures. Getting rid of the uprooted stumps can be a pain too, better, and safer to use a stump grinder to grind the stump in the ground.
