Construction workers in Turkey had a smoother road, as they drove their way to a new world record. 1,453 trucks paraded across Istanbul's third airport to mark the anniversary of the city's conquest in 1453.
The procession lasted for an hour and 47 minutes and involved three thousand people. The organisers say the new airport will mark a new era, as did the conquest of Istanbul back in the days.
If recognised by the Guinness Records, it would smash the current world record of 416 trucks held by The Netherlands. Headlines are coming up next.
1453 trucks, almost 100 excavators, 50 cylinders, 50 loaders, around 2000 personnel lost at least half a day and an estimated one day for nothing.

1453 x 250tl = 363.250
100 x 250 TL = 25.000
50 x 200 = 10,000
2000 x 75 = 150,000
The event costed approximately 550,000 TL. This money could have been spent on better things ...
