Once again, another excellent video. You all deserve way more subscriptions. Side note: Lived in Germany 6 years and considered Switzerland my second home. I did see a few of those hidden runways. I also saw camouflaged giant doors dug into the side of mountains for defensive purposes as well as explosives to close down tunnels. You poke a hornets nest with Switzerland. Lastly, stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson. Saw the "DM" marking on one of the A10's. The C-130's were also stationed there as well.
Great video, it is nice seeing something other than ships and boats. Sometimes in fact here in Florida small planes land on the interstates more often than they should. Most of the are from pilot errors. These old people think they still have it in flying and driving just because they have a stash of those blue pills... lol ;-)
Switzerland only had one go in the 70's on a straight freeway. Turned out the pavement was not strong enough so they never tried again. Plenty of airstrips left from the wars kept alive. Australia lets the flying doctor land on highways with the largest ones made by Pilatus in Switzerland!
America's Interstate Highway System was designed to allow military vehicles to quickly react and travel where needed. It was also designed to allow aircraft to take off and land. Overpasses are limited in landing zones.
