i will say that for the most part this is a pretty good replacement for supertransport now that both Mriya 225’s have been destroyed thanks to the idiotic choices of putin. at least Antonov said after things are sorted out they will rebuild the 225 aircraft (russia is one of Antonov’s main sources of materials)
Wouldn't it have been cheaper to just consolidate the production in one single place? Why wasn't that possible? Politics getting in the way?
an interesting video, thanks... good to hear from a woman interested in aviation tech... :-) i have one little gripe - you are on youtube which caters to a worldwide audience could you please use the metric system when you are giving measurements, thanks...
These planes are great, but I'd like to see a plane designed from scratch instead of some modification of the usual planes. Maybe it could be optimised further than these designs for the role they would perform, as a new design would not focus on being compatible with a passenger aircraft like the current ones, but focus merely on being a cargo/transport plane.
Evenn though the A380 can't be modified into a heavy lift aircraft, it could be modified into an oversized cargo carrier, aircraft like the Belunga only pressurize the cockpit, even the late An225 only pressurized the crew area during flight, so that would lengthen the life cycle of the aircraft.
