When I was in the Canadian military in West Germany 42 years ago, the American Army had a final exercise before the CH47 went in for rebuilt of landing in a nearby flooded quarry, usually the seams were loose enought that it filled up with water and sometimes they had problems getting back ing the air.
Some 30+ years ago, I used to drive over the W Yorkshire moors to work in Manchester. One day, on the tops, I heard the unmistakeable whump, whump, whump of the Chinook. I scanned around but couldn't see it, because it was just 30ft directly above me. Yup, those pilots, pulled my chain
I joined the Navy to stay out of the Army, became a corpsman and ended up with the Marines. I spent more time in the air in CH 46's , Huey's and CH 53's than I did on a ship. I was aboard 46's for night landings on the U.S.S. Inchon - not much bigger than a postage stamp at night.
i did my flight training in a Cessna 150. while you talked about 150s none of the float planes shown was a 150. whether a C-150 can be used as a float plane i really don't know.
1:07 Am I the only one that noticed the warrant officer wearing an army uniform was labeled as a marine! I can totally understand if you have nobody to know it was in the military or you understand the concept of each branch!
