We were the first ship on the west coast to get the Ram in the 90’s. During the initial testing it managed to shoot down the drone that was pulling the target. Only a $3M loss. I mean, to be fair the civilian contractors were on the ship assisting. Maybe it came out of their pockets.
At the 5:00 mark, the Phalynx did have lower speed limit. Hopefully that was changed in the software and the CIWS can engage slow Cessna type suicide aircraft. We used 50 cal guns for that threat.
I wish that I could find a solution to finding my wife at my age. I'm glad that's my problem to worry about instead of how I am going to survive commanding a small group of soldiers leading a group of civilians. Thankfully today, I can comment on YouTube and play computer games -- thats a blessing i guess but I missed out on all the nice things
the solution to small drone surveillance is to fight it with another drone that will ram through the enemy drone and find another target then land back to the ship.
