Comments: - - No sane reason anyone would put a load like that on a road truck! That's just crazy. I hauled a lot of overloads in the 45 years l trucked, but never anything like that, but l guess that's why they pay him the BIG bucks. I wish all the luck in the world and l know he's going to need it
this may be a big load for Main, but in 1968 an off highway KW hauled 750,000 pounds on three trailers near Neah Bay Washington. We never took photos as they were everyday loads. In Libby Montana you can walk into one of the bars and see a 1978 Peterbilt hauling over a million pounds off St. Regis land. Around the west, before the highway trucks took over, a standard load on an off highway truck was 330,000 to 350,000 pounds.
paper companys built, maintain, plow their own roads. they arent hamstrung like truckers who use public roads. the biggest loads you will see on American public roads are in Michigan where you can legally gross 190,000 lbs. on 11 axles
Sounds likehe was a bit hard on the gearbox, heard gears crunching on change down & change up! Well thats what it sounded like.
