We design, manufacture, sell and support a full range of turbine engines for this market. More than 22,000 Safran turbine engines currently power helicopters manufactured by the world's leading manufacturers: Airbus Helicopters, Bell Helicopter, Leonardo, Avicopter, Sikorsky, Russian Helicopters, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Korea Aerospace Industries, etc.
Safran equips most of the new generation helicopters: Airbus Helicopters H160, Bell 505, Leonardo AW189K, Avicopter AC352, Russian Helicopter Ka-62, KAI LCH/LAH, etc. Safran, Tiger, NH90, H225M and AW101 in the military market.
Helicopters powered by Safran are operated by more than 2,500 customers in 150 countries.
The group manufactures several engine families: Arrius and Arriel (up to 1,000 shaft horsepower equipping light and medium helicopters), Arrano, Ardiden (1,000-2,000 SHP powering medium helicopters), Makila, RTM 322 and Aneto (over 2,000 SHP, super medium and heavy helicopters).
Safran is also involved in several international partnerships to make the following engines: Rolls-Royce, MTU and ITP with the MTR390 (powering Airbus Helicopters Tiger); Shakti with HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.) for Dhruv; WZ16 with AVIC of China (for Avicopter AC352); Ariel 2L2 with Hanwha Techwin (Korea Aerospace Industries for LCH and LAH).
