RtyuAmerica Displays Airmen assigned to 35th Generation Forty Fighter Squadron F-16 Fighting Falcon during RED FLAG-Alaska 22-3 at Eielson Air Force Base, designed to give the US and its partner or allied nations an opportunity to test their capabilities to fly, maintain and support in a realistic simulated environment.
YttttRed Flag is nothing compared to what it was in the 80's and 90's. I remember participating and the ramp being so full of aircraft that units had to launch in certain order so as to not blow away ground crew. Even through that I could not avoid my eyes burning from the jet fuel vapors in the air and having to crouch so as to avoid jet blast. Good times!
76655Growing up as a kid I always had a fascination with F-16's. I was intrigued by all military aircraft and me and my best friend used to actually study them in elementary school. We would learn about altitude ceilings, payloads, max speed, technology on board... Needless to say pretty unorthodox for a couple kids but that was our thing. To this day I still love the F-16, even if the tech is more outdated now. There's a reason they've been around for so long.
YyyyyI don't care what anyone says! The F-16 is the most beautiful fighter ever to grace the cobalt blue skies, and it's still one of the most capable and versatile fighters in the world. Thanks to John Boyd and the Fighter Mafia.
