Royal Caribbean has launched its newest vessel, Odyssey of the Seas, at a major construction milestone for the ship.
Odyssey of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's second Quantum-Ultra ship and will sail across Europe from spring 2021. The first ship in the class was Spectrum of the Seas.
Ben Bouldin, Vice President, EMEA, Royal Caribbean International, said: “We are delighted to show the public an image of Odyssey of the Seas.
Royal Caribbean will be the last to join our fleet next year. When we welcome our guests back, they will be able to enjoy unforgettable activities on the Odyssey,
savor delicious cuisine from around the world, and bask in the sun on a newly designed resort-style pool deck.
The operation at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany took more than seven hours to complete.
The next stages are to complete the interior work - then the ship will be transported down the river Ems to complete the sea trials.
The new ship features bumper cars, glow-in-the-dark laser tag and SeaPlex, the largest indoor event at sea. There's also Sky Pad, a virtual reality bungee experience, and RipCord by iFly, a skydiving simulator.
