Com: Kutzbill : My Uncle took an old Willys jeep frame, trans, transfer case, with all the original differentials, and we put an old 4 cylinder Wisconsin engine in it.
Top speed was 35MPH, but it could push snow in a pile, and drive over the pile. We had so much fun with it. He got the old unit back when they were selling Army surplus.
You could get a Jeep for about $125.00, but you had to buy 2 to actually get one running, so there were a lot of units that were not complete.
The guy that used to buy timber near another uncle's place bought an old tank retriever. He used the hell out of it dragging timber out of the woods.
I loved riding in it. Your video brings back a lot of good memories, thank you for posting.
Com: Tarun mitchell: Currently building my own with a 4 speed trans and no transfer case with a 96 tooth sprocket and a 16hp engine see how it goes might get a diesel and turbo it..
Com: John613: awesome DIY budget builds man, good work. ive been following your builds.
Perhaps you had an influence on my 9hp buggy build. i did something similar to with a 9hp and 4spd on my DIY SXS build series..
Com: Wermont: Whats shifting like with a torque converter attached to the trans like that? is there any shifting on the go or do you have to stop or just wait for the engine to return to idle?
