As a certified mechanic you should always drain the oil hot. That way it has most of the bad stuff in suspension and drains faster and more completely!
Oil flows easier when it's warm ,and the contaminants are in suspension, instead of just laying in the bottom of the pan. Good luck with the marathon! It's getting close. Stay safe and God Bless!
