Ya know what, this was awesome. When I woke up today I had no intention of watching someone build a mini dam for 13 minutes and 37 seconds. But I'm glad I gave you a dam chance, its good to see people do things they enjoy. Good for you man, keep being you.
The only thing that could make this dam any better, is if it generated electricity. Adding this into a two tier pond would look stunning. Very impressive build.
I’m 62 and there is no telling how many times my friends and I dammed up the creek at the house as a kid. Children don’t do this stuff any more. This is truly another level. Nice!
Possibly one of the coolest things YouTube has ever suggested to me. I have absolutely no need for a mini dam, but I suddenly want one. This is just ridiculously cool. I will find a reason to have one of these some day. :D And honestly, that did not look super difficult to build either.
With the addition of a battery and float switch this could be used as a self regulating flood control devise for a protection in flood prone area or even a power generator for small application, outside water feature .
I just to throw my own two cents in. I worked in precast concrete as a project manager and estimator for more than a decade. And while this little project is impressive, I would have like to have seen it as something that was actually diverting a stream and also produced electricity. I would be interested in seeing how much electricity a small stream would produce for say a residence or any other functional structure. That and having the electric motors more inter-grated into the structure itself. Not to mention showing the set-up work as well. How was it designed on paper and how they cut those little pieces of block
