cOMMENTS: - - In the 1970's I worked in the family foundry. We cast pots, pans and gridles for various companies. It was a requirement that we used specific alloys that were defined as food grade by US government regulations. Some alloys contain metals and minerals that would leach into food when heated and were viewed as potential health hazards. To this day I don't buy pots, pans or other cooking utensils made in third world countries. Perhaps I am paranoid but just an FYI.
I really appreciate seeing how things are done elsewhere. It was really something to see what looked like some rough cutting for it to end up being some very impressive skill to cut the rim perfectly into shape by hand
My God, there are still people in Brazil who complain about the job they have, the guys work without any PPE equipment without protective masks without ear protectors without goggles without the slightest security may God protect them
I like these videos but as a technician myself is see the conditions in these factories and the lack of Personal Protective Equipment, the cluttered areas, out dated and poorly design machines without safeguards or emergency stop are just disasters waiting to happen. Case in point, that spinning machine used to polish the pans. If it would damage the wood they are using imagine what it would do to your hands
