Com: Usaf : I can buy a drill press cheaper than I can make one.
Wear some foot protection when welding and cutting metal, a trip to the doctor will negate anything you saved making this...
Com: Javies : Two things: You are so good at making things.
So grab an old tire and cut the tread to make the soles of a sturdy fair of work shoes that unless you unbelieveably clever you are going to need. scrounge leather from neighbors ox.
Next time chuck your hole tap into your drill press. much straighter holes.
make a wrench to turn drill chuck by hand, I know that would be a no brainer for you!! I will be watching!
Com: hard cose : To all the people saying, you can buy a vise for 10 bucks.
Yes you can buy a cast iron vise for 10 buck that's going to crack open when you tighten it a just a bit harder.
A vise made out of mild steel can clamp down a LOT harder than a cast iron one can before they fail...
Com: Werdna : Nice little vise, however, I watched at least three holes get tapped at an angle, and there were zero safety considerations while making this.
Safety glasses, gloves, proper footwear, etc. Nice little tool, terrible example of safe fabrication.
Com: Gary : This is just sloppy work. In addition, why would you weld wearing sandals?
That’s just irresponsible and a poor reference point for young people. Finally, it would be cheaper to just buy a vise than this -considering the wear and tear on my blades and bits for heaven’s sakes.
