Messed my knee up earlier this year. Unfortunately, I wasn't wearing chaps. Now, I have a seemingly permanent fear of chainsaws. Not like a phobia, but at 8:02 I started feeling like I was looking over a cliff. I still do tree work, but things just aren't right anymore.
Any one considering getting chaps should get the ones with the 3 straps per leg. You will be more likely to use them as they are not as hot as the pant type you step in and you can quickly take them off when you switch to loading your rounds. Make sure you use each strap and not too loose. Play hard stay safe.
Isn't the contact made with the pants normally when the saw kicks back? People generally don't slowly lower the chain until contact is made. What I'm saying is, I'd like to see the results when the chain is abruptly thrust against the chaps, as would happen in a real incident.
