This is a video made up of Pictures and videos of the mechanical resurrection of my 1963 John Deere 45R. The combine sat outside for 20 years before i came along to save it. 1000's of hours have been poured into this project but it actually finally ran at the end.
Old Farm Machinery:Just purchased a 1950's John Deere 45r combine. She's has done the rounds thats for sure but according to the man I bought it off the engine was rebuilt 15 years ago and was parked up 10. Going to move it in the next week.
Myself being only 17 years old a lot of this stuff is new to me, bum I'm sure as hell keen.
Now Im just wondering what the R stands for in 45R??? because there is nothing on the internet about it
Com: old combine : Awesome job! This gives me hope for my 45! (There's a video on my channel, and more to come in the coming months, now that my stalled project is back on track.) just a few questions: A: why do one so far gone? Sentimental value? I'm certainly not saying you should have scrapped it, just curious what drove your ambition. B: how/where did you get the custom sieve? I'm going to need a set for small grains if I'm not mistaken; I think mine is the corn and beans sieve, as the last thing supposedly run in mine was beans. C: did you replace the rasp bars, and if so, where did you get them?
