What a monster of a vehicle Absolutely mega awesome device very interesting technical data, very good documentation it was fun to watch and the successors don't look bad either ne 155 he on a truck wow I saw the Donar a while ago but it's a chain been a vehicle
I saw such a combination of the HX 81 at the MAN workshop in Regensburg two years ago. The thing is really awesome and impressive.
This combination is owned by CSS 4, formerly Supply Battalion 4, which is currently stationed in Roding, among other places. Oh yes, the trailer manufacturer for the Bundeswehr is Doll from the Black Forest. Just a little information.
Everything is impressive, including the consistency of every single employee in combination with supporting technology.
I found it just as impressive how often it was said that the "2 cable winches with 25t of pulling power each can tow almost any vehicle and together have up to 70t of pulling power." I've only reached minute 23 and have already heard it 4 times... It's probably a tic from television, it's not only making the world sick but also Phoenix or N24
By the way, the predecessor Faun SLT 50-2 Elefant had an engine output of 730 hp. Nice documentation!!!
Such low-loader projectiles could be seen in Barme in 1991 with the 6-axle Franziska semi-trailer. They transported, among other things, the Beaver or the Skorpion mine thrower or the Mars rocket artillery weapon system!
The German Bundeswehr's first heavy-duty tractor was internally called the SLT 50, or Elefant, and was based on a tractor from Faun. The second version of it, similar in terms of the tractor unit but with a different trailer, was called SLT 56 Franziska (although Franziska was never an official BW name) and was no longer suitable for off-road use (8x6). The armored transporter, which is based on the HX81, is simply called SLT2 by the Bundeswehr and has “Mammut” as its name. I don't know who did the research here, but I've rarely seen someone with such conviction go so wild in a documentary.
