Comments:- The airport is amazing very nice to see, but after landing and settling you will discover the mindblowing beauty of the city Istanbul. Should be on everyone's travel list. A tip, get yourself a Istanbul card and charge it for the tram, metro, boats, etc. the view is always amazing especially on the boats when u can see the beauty of europe and asia. Mindblowing!
When we look at some of the comments, we see a high level of disdain. Write in your mind that Turkey ranks second in the world in the construction industry. He did not receive any help from anyone.
I been there ones and it was a great experiment for me. You can see a lot of high tech equipments around you, they make your travel and other needs easier ,faster, tastyer. It is not just an airport indeed as you can see.
Love this epic build. Just wish there was a production quality documentary of the construction. The constant barrage of 2-5 second clips is exhausting and makes it difficult to grasp any detail.
In the "Building Airport" section (starting at 6:06), several of the metric to imperial area conversions are not correct. For example, 1.4 million square meters is not 1.5 million square feet. Similarly, 1.7 million square meters is not 1.8 million square feet.
Istanbul airport is very important for all countries of the world. / It is a very important network that connects the whole world in the transportation of people and cargo.
Very, very impressive, especially the baggage handling system BUT….. let’s see how it works when passenger numbers grow. With an airport that size, many will run around in the vastness or the airport. I would be particularly concerned with the size of check-in information. IMO, an airport of this size should have simplified jumbo screens showing passengers where to go. Almost all airports rely on TV sized monitors which is extremely impractical. Also imagine what happens when a child gets lost. I think technology could find solutions to that and also the challenge of getting passengers to their gates on time with few complications. Printing e.g. GATE 35E on the boarding pass may seem self-explanatory but it isn’t always to the passengers.
