The exceptional 65-meter-long convoy has finally arrived in Aubigny-sur-Nère. The trucks carrying the three gigantic Butagaz tanks have made a long journey and overcome many obstacles. Explanations.
That's it ! The three tanks have arrived at the Butagaz site. The convoy has reached its final destination. He entered Aubigny-sur-Nère a little before 6 p.m., two and a half hours behind schedule.
This exceptional convoy, 65 meters long, 5 meters wide and 7 meters high, attracted many curious people. Each truck weighs no less than 330 tonnes.
Around 2 p.m., he entered Argent-sur-Sauldre. He passed the famous roundabout of the Navy, decorated with a pitcher, at the entrance of the city. Everyone held their breath. Was the convoy going to pass without causing damage? At the speed of a snail, the convoy passed without a hitch.
Parts of Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique) a week ago, the tanks crossed the Seine in Paris on barges and took the road from Corbeil-Essonnes (Essonne). In our region, the convoy crossed the small villages of Sury-aux-Bois (Loiret) and Châtenoy (Loiret). He then continued on his way to Nevoy (Loiret). This Tuesday, he was in Gien (Loiret) before finishing his journey and arriving in Aubigny-sur-Nère (Cher).
The three 1,000 m3 tanks will be installed and buried in a concrete sarcophagus as a safety measure, in place of the existing aerial spheres, on the Butagaz site in Aubigny.
