After felling a tree in the back yard, I cut the stump almost level with the ground. I then took a skill saw and cut criss-cross lines and drilled seversl holes all over, 23 years later I was able to break it up with a pointed shovel. Hope this helps some one.

Set water hose at base of tree and let it run half a day, the tree will come right out of the ground.
I guess the best leverage is with the cable or chain horizontal at the level of the rear axle of the tractor. Also, a rocking pull helps.

If you raise that pulling point hitch up much higher and you will an upside down tractor and he dead tractor operator.
