For installation we use impact hammer and/or vibratory hammer depending on environmental and soil conditions. To minimize environmental impact, Seaway 7 will provide piling noise reduction measures based on the latest available technology.
After a multi-year program of innovation, we have developed and successfully tested a method by which monopiles can be built on dynamic positioning. To date, it has been the norm to install monopile foundations on anchors instead of using dynamic positioning. This particular solution allows us to reduce not only our installation cycle times, but the overall project time and associated cost. All restrictions on impacting the seafloor or local infrastructure have been removed.
In 2022, Seaway 7 will host the heavy-lift crane installation vessel Seaway Alpha Lift, a vessel built specifically to install offshore wind foundations. The vessel was designed around Seaway 7's innovative approach to installation with a fully automated foundation handling system, specifically designed to install XXL monopiles and jacket foundations with maximum efficiency.
