Com: Tnatcher: From what I understand, after years of regular plowing and discing, the ground underneath gets what they call " hardpan". Neither water or plant roots can get thru it. So they plow deep to break up the hardpan

 

Com: David: I have several questions, why are they going so deep? What are they planning to plant afterward? What other implements will be used to prepare the soil for planting? Thank you

 

Com: Mark: We do it to flooded ground to turn under the sand that has been left by floods so it will grow again in the Midwest in the river bottoms other wise it won't grow anything and grows up in brush

 

Com: Nitetrate: These farmers don't know what they are doing. They just want an excuse to operate thousands of dollars worth of equipment and burn hundreds of gallons of fuel. They should have checked YouTube comments first.
