This video shows one of the unique dual-driver truck/trailer combination vehicles used by Boeing to transport aircraft wing spars to the Boeing assembly facility in Everett, Washington. The first driver, as with any other truck, is in the "front" cab. You can see the second driver in his cab underneath the trailer, just in front of the rear wheels.
Comments: - - That's pretty cool, reminds me of those super long fire/ladder trucks, with the guy in the back steering the rear wheels to whip around corners
You could not pay me enough to be in that second cab. That's like riding the bottom turret on a World War 2 bomber. Suicide position!
a bit of odd trivia: the weather in everett is just exactly warm and cool enough year-round that the very large boeing assembly building does not require heating or cooling: instead, they just move air around inside the building to control temperature.
that looks sort of like a ratrod semi truck. so cool. I never knew they had this kind of system.
Old idea. Used to see similar rigs in El Paso from time to time around 1973 when I was stationed there. Carrying Atlas missile bodies. Configuration was a bit different, but idea was the same.
