Michael, yes I realise that if you are on a smaller ship and larger ships are in port then you could be stuck with crowds ashore anyway. What I am saying is that ships are sometimes carrying the equivalent of an entire town to one tiny spot. The bigger they are the more people. I have met many disgruntled and very hot US passengers in lines waiting to get through security. Several that I spoke to said that they have to put up with waiting for ages all the time. Don's cruise vacations touches on this problem quite often. Lets not forget all the time people are held up waiting is time out of the cruise. I suppose it depends on the design of the deck space too for crowd dispersal on sunny days at sea. It's all a matter of taste really. Being docked next to a party ship was an education for me, just observing loads of people all milling about with no peace anywhere is for many not ideal! Passengers getting into brawls years ago was unheard of but now it seems very common.

Symphony will blow your mind the size of it. The amount of things to do it’s almost impossible to explore the whole ship in a week. It has some of the coolest passengers. They also throw a huge embark party on the top three outside decks and it’s the coolest thing ever.
