ts the wrong machines for the job. You dont just pull out a tree stump with a chain/wire they are almost always very hard to get out of the ground..
The best options are
1). To to use a special wood grinder and simply destroy the tree stump above and below ground and let the roots stay in the ground...
2). use an excavator and dig a hole arround the tree stump before trying to pull it up.. its important to cut all roots and make its more easy to get it up..
3). drill holes in the tree stump and put in a mix og gazoline and oil and wait a few days and then set it on fire..
It will burn for a few days and become very hot and the tree stump will be a pile of ash. if possible dig 2 holes and drill a hole so air can come in.. ( the tree stump is gona be like a furnace )
When you look at the massive amount of leverage that is put on the base of a tree in very high winds and the tree does not move, what makes you think cutting it a few feet above ground and chaining a tractor to it will do anything at all without cutting the roots..
