Comments: - - A lot of guys have been killed when a broken chain whipped through the back of their skulls. Did my fair share of this years ago, and when I learned how dangerous it really was, I felt pretty lucky that I'd never broken one and been hurt. Never yank on a chain or pull with one. That's a lot of potential energy being held by the weakest link.
Crane straps are much much better and safer to use. I've seen too many chains break or come loose and go through the back window of tractors and trucks.
Good little lesson in Newtonian physics, whereby they wake up to the fact, close to the end, that the machine can easily provide the necessary momentum, with just a little bit more v.
That cable will pull upwards and take away the tractors traction. Bin down that road a few times with an old W6. Block and tackle works not too bad sometimes . Sometimes just make a fire at the trunk and let it smoulder down into the roots, as long as there are not any buried pipes or cables within a hundred feet or so.
Great way to destroy your final drive of your tractor.... These guys should look into using multiple pulleys and shiv Wheels. Double triple quadruple your torque and pulling power!
