COMMENTS: - - Wheat harvest videos in my area from the late 1900s to the 1930s with young men sewing sacks and horses pulling harvesters
It's really nice to see real video of these guys and machines in action. I especially loved watching how they were able to handle the equestrian teams without jumping or jumping as they rode along the slope of the hill.
I have always loved watching old movies!! So many people, so many horses will do the work... Today, one person can do the same job with 4 teams back then.. We have endless respect for the hardworking men and women of our past.!!! Thanks Mike!!! Happy 4th of July
Form germany It's nice to see these horses and how big the cutter on the combine is. I bought my first combine in 2021. A German Claas Dominator 105... 40 years old 170 HP and 4.5 m cutter. Old but in very good condition like new. The man I bought it from was 90 years old. In recent years, they've taken him to the combine with a loader so that he can travel for a few hours on the machine he loves.
This is a beautifully edited video. Some of the older footage appears to have been shot around the communities of Colton and Uniontown Washington in the Palouse area. Our family still farms around Colton and Pullman. Crops now include wheat, barley, lentils, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), wild grass seeds, Timothy grass seeds, canola (rapeseed), and sometimes dried peas.
