The tractor is drawing a "Sausage Machine" I'm told and it makes a slot in the turf and churns it back out in sausages, as you can see.
They are dried for a week or so, then turned.
Later they are stacked in "Footies" like making corn stooks from sheaves.
One farmer I spoke to had his "bog" closed down for "Conservation" and was given as compensation some coal money - for 15 years.
Your children? Forget it.
And there are THOUSANDS of acres of unused bog in Ireland.
