Com: Recoil rop :The .223 ammo normally doesn't have a crimped primer,
and I think that's what's locking it up as the primer is backing out due to the lack of barrel won't create the back-thrust needed to reseat it as happens on normal rifles.
If you could try some military crimped primer ammo it might not lock up so badly as,
hopefully, the crimp would help keep the primer from backing out so badly.
I'm assuming that's what's happening as dry-firing it several times lets it open,.
and the only thing this could be doing is pounding the primer back in.
If that IS crimped ammo...nevermind.:)
